Ask them for assistance from a Maruti Engineer. Maybe your compressed air from the turbo is leaking, it may also be excessive turbo whine, which may be due to a faulty turbo bearing. There can be many reasons for the whistling sound. Let the engineer see it. Most Maruti Authorised service technicians do not have much experience on diesels especially turbo ones.

hello

i am using my swift diesel LDI for my past 9 months. now i have a problem that while i drive my vehile to a particular RPM espacially while the engine was hot..i heard a abnormal whistling sound..when i commit to service they told turbocharger was out and they replaced to a new one..but the sound is still there…any help please

. I’ve been raoming in the net since a long time to help me to decide about the vehicle I’m about to buy. Tried all the options available and came nearer to settling for swift. But couldn’t get hold of some genuine review that could be the deciding factor. But now this is the end of my search for some good unbiased review of the vehicle.

The Diesel Technology has progressed quite a bit and the performance and maintenance of both the engines are almost at par.

1. Diesel is cheaper than Petrol and Diesel vehicles of comparable BHP ratings give more mileage per Ltr.

2. Diesel motor though is noisier and vibrates more than the petrol engine. Vibrations though are drastically reduced in the DDis/ Multijet engine.

3. Diesel motors used to need more maintainance but with the advent of pre-tensioned timing chains, improved fuel quality that has also come down.

4. Unless you are a quiteness freak, and drive more than 800 kms per month then Diesel is a good bet.

Nice report!! I am planning to buy a car but confused whether to go for a diesel or petorl car. It would be great to know advantages and disadvantages of both the engines. If you could guide me on this that will be great.

I really dont understand how you could type soo much stuff…hmmmm
