Large businesses pay to who ever is in power. Small ones are less promiscuos and align themselves to a local poltical parties to survve and prosper. They fuel the local agenda, which at times is as shortsighted as this. People are increasingly helpless, when all those who can do something are either hand in gloves or are helpless themselves. I wonder if Manmohan Singh can do anything is Karunanidhi makes Pro LTTE noises. He does not have the spine to risk the government. Or ven if he wants there are vested interests who want to milk thier time in the government to the fullest and would not like to see it cut short by foolish idealism.
